My Little Table

A friend of mine reminded me that I had forgotten to post a pic of one of my finished weekend projects! I worked on this table a few weeks back. This table has been with me a long time. My grandmother got it for me at a garage sale for $10, when I first got married. I loved it so much because it was about the only decent piece of furniture I had at the time. So I painted it white and used it as my buffet table in my single wide trailer (yep, not even a double wide ๐Ÿ˜‚)! Since then, itโ€™s been used for many different things and painted different colors. A good piece of furniture is worth investing in because you can most of the time repurposed it through the years. Recently it had been sitting in my basement waiting on its new place. We moved a couple of years ago into a smaller house in town and honestly I wasn’t sure if I even had a place for it. But, one day, it dawned on me that I could give it a try as a kitchen island! My kitchen is not very big, but the extra counter space is nice to have. I sanded down the top back to the bare wood and stained it. Then I painted the bottom half with chalk paint. See my homemade recipe here on this post about my bar stools. Anyway, I love it and I love that I can keep on finding ways to reuse this piece in my house! I feel like I have a little piece of my grandmother with me every time I look at it…
